News Release: Former Canada Carbon CEO,
Paul Ogilvie, Ignites Torch
Message from the CEO
Over the next 12 months Torch River Resources will work towards
acquiring properties containing lump graphite to transform the
Company into a pure play 100% lump graphite mining company. We plan
on changing the name to Saint Jean Carbon to better reflect our
Quebec mining interests.
Lump graphite is widely considered to be one of the rarest,
commercially valuable, and highest quality types of natural
graphite. It occurs along intrusive contacts in solid lumps and is
only actively mined in Sri Lanka (Mores, 2007). In the 1890’s Quebec
was bustling with small, operating lump mines. Given the carbon
content of lump/vien graphite the recovery operations and cost will
normally be lower than flake or amorphous graphite recovery and is
suitable for many of the same applications as flake graphite giving
it a distinct competitive edge in terms of market prices and product
applications.
We hope you stop by and check out our website from time to time, we
are working on an entire new site that will be full of valuable
information on or progress, lump graphite and our latest news.
These are exciting times for the Company, and we look forward to the
support of our shareholders and stakeholders alike.
Paul Ogilvie
